Hello, My name is Seth Westover and I'm 18 years old. I am a Senior at the Harmony Area High School in Westover, Pennsylvania. I have two brothers and their names are Jordan and Collin. Jordan is in 10th grade while Collin is in 8th grade. My mom passed away when I was 13. My dad passed away when I was 16.
I am a Volunteer Firefighter for the Westover Area Volunteer Fire Company. My brother Jordan is a volunteer firefighter too. I have been on the company since late 2006, giving me the time to complete my essentials to firefighting courses. Jordan took these courses with me and he passed the first three courses. The fourth course is the Interior Firefighter course. You must be 18 in order to take this course. But I had an exception, I was going to do a senior project on that. But as it came down, my fire chief Santo Adamo told me that I could not do my project because it would tie up the other different fire companies that would be responding to my mock school fire. My dad told me to work with my cousin on his senior project and that has worked more successfully than my project would have. We are trying to raise enough money to buy some rescue equipment for our fire department. The project proved to be successful; we got the tools and then the Engine/Rescue was rescue certified. 8)
